The Sect of the Horned God is a" Left-Hand Path" organization dedicated to the destruction of "faith" in all it's manifestations. We see faith as the root of all evil. There is not a single major example of man's inhumanity towards man that is not rooted in faith, be it the Holocaust, Stalin's Purges, Jonestown, or 9/11. We use shock and awe to push the cause of reason and rational thought in order to awaken the masses. To quote Magus Thomas LeRoy, founder of the Sect of the Horned God, "Faith is the ability to ignore your doubts". Since we in the Sect lack this ability, we in no way believe in an "afterlife", nor reincarnation. Because of this, one must live their life to the fullest. That is why we have selected to follow in the Satanic tradition and utilize the symbol of the "Horned God". Pan, Cernunnos, Faunus, Herne the Hunter, SATAN, all are representations of the carnal side of human nature, the Freudian "Id", the Jungian "Shadow". We do not repress what some may call the "darker aspect" of ourselves. We seek to bring it forth and liberate it!

The Sect of the Horned God is for those who relish in the theatre and iconography of ritual and ceremony, but in no way adhere to the mentally stifling dogma attached to most religious observances. As astrology is to astronomy, or alchemy is to chemistry, religion is to psychology. Humans have an inexorable psychological need for ritual. It allows one to tap into areas of the psyche usually ignored, or shunned, by the conscious mind. Unfortunately, the majority of the citizens of our planet see this as an exercise in contact with the numinous, instead of as the cathartically rich activity it truly is.
